After graduating from the Buryat Cultural and Educational School in the specialty of choral conducting in 1981, she began her creative career in the Buryat State Song and Dance Ensemble Baikal.

In 2005, in a new production of "Spirit of ancestors" (Ugaym sulde) created by the myths and legends of Mongolian-speaking peoples S. Banchikova played the leading role: one of the 9 mothers - the ancestors of the Buryat-Mongolian clans. In 2006, the performance was awarded the Government of the Russian Federation Award in the field of culture.
